History & Identity

Created
Salug was created by Republic Act No. 2510, approved 21 June 1959, out of eleven barrios of Liloy; the seat of government was the barrio of Mucas.[9]

Its story

Liloy's own history page records that in 1959 it lost a large part of its territory when Salug was created.[10]

The act provided that the first mayor, vice-mayor and councilors would be appointed by the President and serve until elected successors qualified.[9]
