About this dataset
The climate of Philippine places from PAGASA, the national weather service: the type of climate its climate map gives the place's land (the Modified Coronas classification, 1951 to 2010), and, for a place within 60 km of one of PAGASA's synoptic stations, that station's climatological normals for 1991 to 2020: rain, rainy days and temperatures, month by month and for the year.
How the figures were made: PAGASA's measurements at its synoptic stations, averaged over 30 years; the climate type read by Scene off PAGASA's map.
What Scene adds: Each place's nearest station and its distance, and the climate type of the place's land.
What it holds
- Climate type
- Type I to IV of the Modified Coronas classification, and the share of the place's land it covers.
- Rainfall and rainy days
- The station's average rain in millimetres and its days with rain, by month and for the year.
- Temperature
- The station's average, highest and lowest temperatures in degrees Celsius.
