Scene is an independent guide to the places of the Philippines. It is not a website of the government, and it does not speak for the Philippine Statistics Authority, any department or any local government. Its facts come from what they publish, and each fact names its source beside it.

Borders are a guide

The borders on Scene's maps come from UN OCHA's map of barangay borders, drawn from the PSA's and NAMRIA's, and from OpenStreetMap where it is newer. They show where a place lies, not its legal boundary, which only the law or ordinance that created the place sets. A land area Scene measures inside such a border is approximate, and the page says so.

Figures, as their sources publish them

Every figure is the official one its source publishes, or worked out by Scene from it and labelled as Scene's. Where no source gives a figure, the page says so instead of showing a guess. When a source corrects a figure, the next release of the Atlas follows it. Every source and method.
