About this dataset
The named rivers, lakes, reservoirs and mountain peaks of every barangay, city, municipality, province, region and island group of the Philippines, and the length of its coastline, read from OpenStreetMap (the Geofabrik extract of 30 September 2026). A river is listed where at least half a kilometre of it (a fifth of a kilometre for a barangay) lies inside the place; the coast counts where it runs within 150 m of the border.
How the figures were made: Read by Scene from OpenStreetMap's map data, measured on the Earth's surface against each place's border.
What Scene adds: Each place's rivers, lakes, peaks and coast, matched to its border.
What it holds
- Rivers
- Named rivers, longest inside the place first, with how much of each lies inside it and its whole mapped length.
- Lakes
- Named lakes, reservoirs and lagoons of the place, largest first, in square kilometres.
- Peaks
- Named peaks inside the place, highest first, in metres, and whether each is a volcano.
- Coastline
- Kilometres of coast along the place.
